LTX Studio Review: It's Not Just an Aggregator

Lightricks built and open-sourced its own frontier model, LTX-2, then wrapped it in a storyboard-first platform. Pricing confirmed, refund window stricter than most.

LTX Studio, by Lightricks, is not a pure model reseller: it built and open-sourced its own frontier model, LTX-2 (14B video + 5B audio parameters), then added third-party models (Kling, Seedance, Veo) on top. Confirmed pricing runs Free (800 one-time credits) to Pro at 125 euro/mo. Reviewers report a strict refund cutoff around 1,200 credits used.

LTX Studio is a storyboard-first platform for planning and generating whole sequences rather than single clips, built by Lightricks. Unlike most platforms in this category, it is not simply reselling access to other labs' models: Lightricks built and open-sourced its own frontier model, LTX-2, and it is worth understanding before you read the rest of this review.

It is not just an aggregator

LTX-2 is a 14-billion-parameter video model paired with a 5-billion-parameter audio model, generating synchronised 4K audio and video, and Lightricks has open-sourced it. That puts LTX Studio in a different category from platforms like Higgsfield or OpenArt, which resell access to models built elsewhere; Krea is the other platform we cover that also ships its own foundation model alongside third-party access. LTX Studio also gives you access to third-party models on top of its own (Kling 3.0 Pro and Seedance 2.0 on the Standard tier, Veo 3.1 reserved for Pro), so it is genuinely both a model maker and an aggregator at once.

What it costs

What we found when we looked past the pricing page

The refund policy is stricter than most: reviewers report a hard cutoff once you have used around 1,200 credits, roughly 20 minutes of generation time, after which refund requests are not honoured. Because iterating on a shot (fixing a bad take, adjusting a prompt) consumes credits the same as a first attempt, that cutoff arrives faster than the credit count alone suggests. Reviewers also report stiff motion and character-consistency issues on some generations, and describe support as slow to respond. None of this is unusual for the category, but the combination with a strict refund window is worth knowing before you commit a full month's credits to testing it.

What we have not tested ourselves

We have not run our own 40-prompt benchmark battery through LTX-2 or through LTX Studio's third-party model access. Every score on this site for the models it also carries (Kling, Sora, Grok) was measured through Magnific, not through LTX Studio, and we cannot tell you whether the same prompt behaves identically through a different platform's access to the same underlying model.

Should you use it

If storyboard-level planning across a whole sequence, rather than one clip at a time, is what you actually need, LTX Studio's workflow is built for exactly that, and having its own frontier model rather than only reselling others' is a real differentiator. Budget your credits conservatively given the refund cutoff, and confirm character consistency on your specific use case before committing to a paid tier.

See our full platform comparison for how it stacks up against the others we track.
